#hermione granger means everything in the world to me   #in my headcanon hermione granger is a girl who grew up in your average middle class british home with her two dentist parents (whose names are unknown to us but in my mind her parents met at cambridge and her mom was particularly fond of shakespeare and decided to name her first and only daughter after one of his characters. she loves hamlet and macbeth and is fond of othello but for some reason a winter’s tale is her favorite shakespearean play. she read shakespeare to her daughter and thus her daughter soon became completely enamored with books and stories)   #hermione lived very much inside her head  #she didn’t have very many friends growing up and thus threw herself into her studies   #though the lack of friends sometimes stung her parents and love of knowledge gave her a headstrong sensibility  #not to mention that in some ways she perceived herself as ‘special’   #it was odd knowing how she could make things move without touching them   #things around her seemed to happen   #she sense a different energy   #and though it alienated her in a way she relished in this uniqueness   #then one day she got a letter   #and everything made sense and everything fell into place   #in a weird way she saw it as an opportunity to start over   #an opprtunity to begin again   #but through her reading and her studies   #she learned about her kind   #she learned about how wizarding minority status   #she learned about purebloods and halfbloods and ‘mudbloods’   #and though this was a new and exciting place she was going to   #she felt vulnerable   #her parents always told her that she overcompensated for what she felt she lacked with her smarts   #and in a way it was true   #but hermione knew inside of herself what justice was because she felt it   #she felt she had worth   #she felt she was capable of love if only someone would be willing to see the same in her   #she loved life and she loved knowledge   #she knew this of herself   #but above all she knew what justice meant  #people always wondered why she was put in gryffindor when she seemed to be a ravenclaw   #she often wondered the same thing herself
